چکیده

Bisphenol F (BPF) and bisphenol S (BPS) are becoming widespread in the environment despite lack of information regarding their fate during wastewater treatment environment. This study assessed biodegradation kinetics BPF BPS biological with activated sludge using GC-MS/MS, identification biotransformation products (BTPs) LC-QTOF-MS. The results showed that degrade readily unlikely accumulate biosolids or effluent (ci = 0.1 mg L−1, half-lives <4.3 days). first-order kinetic model revealed (kt 0.20–0.38) degraded faster than 0.04–0.16) degradation rate decreases an increasing initial concentration (half-lives 17.3 absence any additional organic carbon source significantly slowed down degradation, particular, (lag phase on day 18 instead 7). machine-learning algorithm adopted as part non-targeted workflow identified three known BTPs one novel BTP BPF, ten new BPS. data from this support possible pathways, namely sulphation, methylation, cleavage coupling smaller moieties.

Biotransformation of estrogens in nitrifying activated sludge under aerobic and alternating anoxic/aerobic conditions.

Natural and synthetic estrogens present in municipal wastewater can be biodegraded during treatment, particularly in activated sludge. The objective was to assess the extent of transformation of 17-beta-estradiol (E2) and 17-alpha-ethinylestradiol (EE2) by nitrifying activated sludge and evaluate potential relationships between availability of oxygen, nitrification rate, and estrogen removal. F...

Identification of biotransformation products of citalopram formed in activated sludge.

Citalopram (CTR) is a worldwide highly consumed antidepressant which has demonstrated incomplete removal by conventional wastewater treatment. Despite its global ubiquitous presence in different environmental compartments, little is known about its behaviour and transformation processes during wastewater treatment. The present study aims to expand the knowledge on fate and transformation of CTR...

Comparison of membrane fouling during short-term filtration of aerobic granular sludge and activated sludge.

Aerobic granular sludge was cultivated adopting internal-circulate sequencing batch airlift reactor. The contradistinctive experiment about short-term membrane fouling between aerobic granular sludge system and activated sludge system were investigated. The membrane foulants was also characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy technique. The results showed that the aerobic g...

A tiered procedure for assessing the formation of biotransformation products of pharmaceuticals and biocides during activated sludge treatment.

Upon partial degradation of polar organic micropollutants during activated sludge treatment, transformation products (TPs) may be formed that enter the aquatic environment in the treated effluent. However, TPs are rarely considered in prospective environmental risk assessments of wastewater-relevant compound classes such as pharmaceuticals and biocides. Here, we suggest and evaluate a tiered pr...

a comparison of teachers and supervisors, with respect to teacher efficacy and reflection

supervisors play an undeniable role in training teachers, before starting their professional experience by preparing them, at the initial years of their teaching by checking their work within the proper framework, and later on during their teaching by assessing their progress. but surprisingly, exploring their attributes, professional demands, and qualifications has remained a neglected theme i...
